Healing Traditions in Acadiana is a quarterly lecture series hosted by the Lafayette Parish Master Gardeners. This series serves as in introduction about the healing traditions of the Creole & Cajun people. In addition, the lectures discuss the need to preserve medicinal plants and increase awareness of their various uses to common illnesses.

The Vermilionville Living History Museum and Folklife park provide a wonderful educational experience for children and young adults. Combining school field trips with the educational aspects provided in classroom create a sense of historical relevance. The benefits of combining the two provide students to place a visual up-close example of the lives of early Acadians as they settled in the region.
