Vermilionville LIVING HISTORY MUSEUM FOUNDATION, INC.

The Vermilionville Living History Museum Foundation, Inc., is a non-profit organization with 501(c)(3) status. The purpose of the Foundation is to support and enhance Vermilionville's mission as a living history museum, stated as follows:

"Vermilionville's mission is to increase appreciation for the history, culture, and natural resources of the Native Americans, Acadians, Creoles, and peoples of African descent in the Attakapas region through the end of the 1800s. Through historic interpretation and conservation along the Bayou Vermilion, we strive to educate guests on the interactions of these groups and the connections between past and contemporary folklife, thus empowering guests to apply these lessons from our shared histories."

Vermilionville board members support the museum with their time and expertise, and they work closely with Vermilionville's full-time staff. By virtue of the foundation's 501(c)(3) status, they can and do apply for grants on behalf of Vermilionville. The Foundation Board meets bi-monthly and elects new officers annually. If you are interested in attending a Foundation board meeting, please contact Board Secretary Deborah Simeral, deborahsimeral@gmail.com

Individuals may make tax-deductible donations to Vermilionville through the Foundation by sending a check to 300 Fisher Road, Lafayette, LA 70508. If you have any questions, please contact the Director of Community Outreach, 337-233-4077, 207 | Outreach@BayouVermilionDistrict.org.
